Jugalbandi 3


Was celebrated on 20th Dec 2014 to mark the World Disability Day of 2014.

This was ASTHA's 3rd Annual Event. 

This event was conducted in KASSIA Auditorium, at Vijayanagar Bengaluru


In the morning with the help of team from "Dream A Little", ASTHA conducted a camp called  Share A Dream. In this camp about 50 differently abled children from various organisations like, Samarthanam, JSS School of hearing and Speach, Deepa Academy etc participated. Kids were encouraged to share their dream through Painitng, Drawings, Clay Art etc. ASTHA also arranged some fun activities and gave an opportunity to the kids to enjoy the morning with their friends and families.


In the evening Jugalbandi 3 event was to inspire the world with the possibilities of people with and without disabilities coming together. Chief Guest of the evening was Mr. PG Bhat, who is actively supporting, helping, and guiding ASTHA in its project of making Voting in our country more Accessible for differently abled.  Guest of Honour Mrs. Pavitra, who is the Managing Director of one of its kind BPO Vindya E Infomedia Private Limited where about 80% of the employees are people with different Abiliites.


The evening witnessed magical performances in Jugalbandi Format -  Blind Dancers of Deepa Academy did classical dance jugalbandi with the Dance  Students of Mudra Institute of Culture. Blind and Physically Challenged Singers expressed completely with passionate  Singers of "From Mug to Mike" group lead by Mr. Sunil Koshy. 


The main and grand attractive Jugalbandis of the evening were two. One was Instrumental Musical Jugalbandi amongst RajVelu, a child Prodigy on Tabla and Drumpet, Passionate Percussionist Advocate K.S Naveen Kumar, Blind and highly talented musicians Shashank on Key Board and Mohammad Waseem on Veena. This performance of 30 minutes left everyone entrhalled and inspired and moved to tears and joy. As this musical Jugalbandi was on, on the same stage, probably for the first time in the world Mouth Arist did painting Jugalbandi with an Artist who paints normally using Hands. It was magical 45 minutes between Mouth Artist Shri Manjibhai of Ahemdabad and young talented artist Pratima Dani. 


ASTHA's Champion Vishwas who lost both his arm at the tender age of 4 gave a dance performance that had crowd on feet. Our Chief Enabler Sunil Jain and Founder of "From Mug to Mike" came together for musical medley 6 old and new bollywood songs for 8 minutes and it was treat to watch such an inspiring performance. It was truly a Jugalbandi of two worlds. By end of this Performance, Sunil Koshy claimed that its time that the world celebrated World Super Abled and to do away with the term Disability.


Sunil Jain, the Founder Shared the relevance of Sports for people with Different Abilities and he shared his vision of conceptualising and Building an "Academy for Excellence and Research in Sports for Differently Abled". He said the mission is to scout and train and coach atehlets to win 5 Gold Medals in Paralympics to be held in Japan 2020.


The Venue of the event was sponsored by Sagitarrius Metal Private Limited headed by Mr. Pramod Baliga. Other supporters for the events were Kataria Gems and Lighting Gallaria.
